On behalf of the People’s Government of Qinghai Province and the International Electric Vehicles Race of Qinghai Lake Management Company Ltd., I would like to warmly welcome all visitors to the second “China EV Rally 2015, Qinghai Lake” which will be held from 15th June 2015 to 18th June 2015 in Xining, the provincial capital of Qinghai.
The 21st century marks a generation of enhanced environmental awareness and the development of a low carbon economy is gradually gaining the needed consensus from more and more countries.
The urgent need for environmental protection has especially been prevailing in major Chinese metropolises such as Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou etc., where air pollution frequently reaches hazardous levels. The fast economic growth and emergence of industrial hubs have been offset by irrevocable harm to the environment. Blue skies have become rare phenomena and drinking of unboiled tap water has widely been considered to pose a health risk in many places.
On the contrary, Qinghai province is one place where its natural beauty and pristine environment are still preserved. The landscape is marked by vast grasslands, blue skies and fresh spring water. To date it epitomizes the beauty of mother earth in every detail. Thus, it serves as an ideal setting to call upon society’s behavioral reflection in order to promote environmental protectionism.
Please allow me to quote Orison Swett Marden: “We make the world we live in and shape our own environment”; let us get together to advocate environmental protectionism; to learn about the latest scientific breakthroughs of electric vehicles technologies and to promote the adoption of alternatively powered vehicles.
We all share the Planet Earth as our common home. Let Qinghai province become your inspiration of how hospitable our environment could be if we all come together to promote green development.
