The Fifth China EV Rally, Qinghai Lake (CEVR) was officially launched on June 24, 2018 at the Kumbum Monastery, which was jointly sponsored by Qinghai Provincial People's Government, the Ministry of Science and Technology(MOST), the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology(MIIT), and the China Electric Vehicle 100-member Association (China EV 100 ), co-host by the China Automotive Technology & Research Center (CATARC), the China Automotive Engineering Research Institute(CAERI), and Federation of Automobile and Motorcycle Sports of People’s Republic of China (CAMF), and China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation(CBCGDF), and host by the China EV 100, and International Electric Vehicle of Qinghai Lake Management Company Ltd.
This morning, the Parade Blessing activity with the theme of "Man and Nature" was held in at the Kumbum Monastery, the holy land of Tibetan Buddhism in Qinghai Province. The participating vehicle companies formed an electric vehicle team to go to the Kumbum Monastery. With 10 of the participating vehicles including BAIC EU5, BAIC EX360, BAIC EX5, SAIC EX5, Dongfeng Fengshen E70, Marvel X, Changan Eado EV of Second Generation, ZOTYE T300 EV, BYD Qin EV450, LinkTour K-ONES, and Iveco PowerDaily EV42 in a line and the witness of stars, drivers, manufacturers, and media reporters, the Kumbum Monastery Parade Blessing with the theme of "Man and Nature" , the first event of the Fifth China EV Rally, Qinghai Lake (CEVR) was officially launched.
As one of the six famous temples of Tibetan Buddhism, Kumbum Monastery is a holy place for blessing. Sports stars, drivers and representatives of the manufacturers all expressed their best wishes for the Fifth China EV Rally, Qinghai Lake (CEVR).
The presence of the public welfare ambassadors of the Rally including diving Olympic champion Sang Xue, gymnastics world champion Mo Huilan, gymnastics world champion Bi Wenjing, women volleyball champions Xue Ming and Ma Yunwen, Taekwondo world champion and short track speed skating world champion Shi Jingnan, aerobics world champion Huang Jinxuan ignited the atmosphere of the event.
It is worth mentioning that Mo Huilan, an old friend of the CEVR, has participated the rally for many years and she loves automobile sports. When talking about new energy vehicles, Mo Huilan said that electric vehicles are not very different from traditional cars in the aspect of driving experience, and that electric vehicles perform very well in mute effect. More of her friends start to try electric cars. The CEVR has a new bright spot every year, and she has witnessed that more and more manufacturers are joining and its influence is growing.
For Shi Jingnan, it was his first time to participate in the CEVR. The Rally has made him pay more attention to environmental protection and made him believe that new energy is an inevitable trend in the future. Also, with so many people working together, the future will certainly be better.
Sports stars expressed that they like electric cars very much as they are both environmentally friendly and quiet. Holding such event about new energy is not only a good boost to the technical evaluation and innovation of electric vehicles, but also helpful to popularize the good social value of green travel and improve people's green and environmental consciousness. Through this event, the sport stars hoped to promote the development of China's new energy automobile industry, and call on more people to protect the natural environment.
