On the morning of June 26th, after the opening ceremony of the the Fifth China EV Rally, Qinghai Lake (CEVR), motorcade with more than 80 vehicles formally set foot on the distance of the evaluation race around the lake. The motorcade was divided into several teams, started their first day of the Tour of Qinghai Lake Competition from Xining directly. On the first day of the competition, there are four sections of about 300 kilometers. The travelling distances of the four sections are 101 kilometers, 50 kilometers, 67.5 kilometers and 72.4 kilometers respectively. After passing through Daotang River, Erlangjian and Heima River, the teams finally reached Chaka Salt Lake for rest and finished their first day's competition.
After the opening ceremony, the first section was the evaluation for space design, which mainly carried out the three-dimensional evaluation of the distance value of the front row space and the back row space, altogether 5 parts including the space for head, space for the body side, space for legs in the front row, space for legs in the rear row and the storage space. Six judges were selected by the Committee to rate each of the participating models with a full score of 20, and the total score was the final score of the space design of the vehicle.
In the second section, the fast charging capacity was evaluated. After ten of the participating models were driven into the charging pile of the Erlangjian Scenic Area, they were charged by professional technicians at the same time, and their charging current, voltage and charging time were recorded.The electricity charging amount within 10 minutes were taken as the evaluation parameter.
In the third section, the technological configuration was evaluated. The models were evaluated in terms of safety performance, practical performance, intelligence and advancement, with a full score of 25 points for each term and six judges marking each of the participating models. The total score is the final score of the vehicle's technological configuration.
The fourth section of the evaluation was comfort configuration, which was mainly evaluated from the driver's position, co-driver’s position and the position of the rear row occupants, with a total of five parts: rearview mirror, air conditioner, skylight, seat and central armrest. Six judges were selected by the Committee to rate each model, with a full score of 20 for each part. The total score is the final score of the vehicle's comfort configuration.
It is worth mentioning that on the banks of Qinghai Lake with the most beautiful scenery, even though the altitude has reached about 3300 meters, the race drivers did not show any discomfort or fatigue. In the fourth section (Heima River-Chaka Salt Lake), the stars even took part in the driving of the participating models by themselves. The models were: EU5 of BAIC New Energy driven by Huang Junpeng, EX360 of BAIC New Energy driven by Xiaoting Pan, EX5 of BAIC New Energy driven by Sang Xue, Marvel X of SAIC Rongwei driven by Huang Jinxuan, T300 EV of ZOTYE driven by Kui Yuanyuan, Qin EV450 of BYD driven by Bi Wenjing, E70 of Dongfeng Fengshen driven by Hou Yuzhuo, and K-ONE of LinkTour driven by Mo Huilan. Meanwhile, CCTV reporter Song Yan also personally drove the second generation of Yidong EV of Changan. All of the models in the race didn’t have "plateau reaction" in today's Tour, and remain in their best working condition. After the fourth section of the race, the team arrived at the Chaka Salt Lake Scenic Area, where the riders and star riders took pictures with the vehicles near the Chaka Salt Lake, known as the "Sky Mirror", which meant that all the evaluation items were completed on the day.
In addition, in the acceleration performance evaluation of the performance evaluation race conducted on June 25th, EU5 of BAIC New Energy, K-ONE of LinkTour, Marvel X of SAIC Roewe, Power Daily EV42 of Iveco ranked first in the passenger car-A group, SUV-AO group, SUV-A group, commercial (logistics) W group respectively; in braking performance evaluation, E70 of Dongfeng Fengshen, T300 EV of ZOTYE , Marvel X of SAIC Roewe, PowerDaily EV42 of Ivecowere ranked first in passenger car group A, SUV-AO group, SUV-A group, commercial (logistics) W group respectively. In the control performance evaluation, EU5 of BAIC New Energy, EX360 of BAIC New Energy, Marvel X of SAIC Roewe ranked first in the passenger car-A group, the SUV-AO group, and the SUV-A group respectively. In the 20 cm depth water test of the challenge, all the 10 models passed, and in the 40 cm depth water test, 8 racing models passed the challenge successfully.
On June 27, the Fifth China EV Rally, Qinghai Lake (CEVR) will usher a evaluation with total of two segments of 196.2 km in its second day, including climbing ability, mute effect and appearance design.
