On June 27, the Fifth China EV Rally, Qinghai Lake (CEVR) began its second day of the Tour of Qinghai Lake Competition. After a night's rest, the teams gathered and set out again, carrying out two sections of total 196.2 km journey. They started from Chaka Salt Lake, passed through the Tianjun, and finally arrived at Gangcha. Although there are only two sections, the evaluation is rich in terms of climbing ability, mute effect and design, especially climbing over Guanjiao Mountain, which has the highest elevation of 3847m in the course of the Rally.
In the morning, the evaluation of the climbing ability of electric vehicles was carried out in the 5th section of the Tour of Qinghai Lake Competition. Mainstream electric vehicles from China: BAIC EU5, Dongfeng Fengshen E70, Changan Second Generation EV, BYD Qin EV450, BAIC EX360, LinkTour K-ONES, ZOTYE T300 EV, BAIC New Energy EX5, SAIC Roewe Marvel X, Iveco PowerDaily EV42, which all passed the full-length climbing section evaluation of 800-meter continuous bend, The average elevation is about 3800 meters, the slope is raised from 5% to 16% meters, and the climbing stage increases 34 meters above sea level. According to the chief referee, this section mainly tests the electric vehicle battery discharge current, motor power, fixed starting point and terminal point (no branch line in the middle) of the evaluation route when the vehicles are climbing the slope. The vehicle starts from the starting point quietly and arrives at the finishing line of this evaluation test at the fastest safe speed according to the designated route. The referee uses a professional time tracking device to record the race car's arrival time at the end of the race as a final result by pinpointing the time to 0.01 seconds. The test drivers were not affected by high altitude. The evaluation also shows that pure electric vehicles in the plateau area are not affected by oxygen and altitude.
He Yong, the Rally race driver, is also an old friend of the Rally. This time, as the leader of the race driver evaluation team, He Yong said that this year was his third time to attend the China EV Rally, Qinghai Lake (CEVR), "The organizers invited me to come over as a race driver and a professional judge, and I didn't check only a particular type of car, but I checked all the models as a judge. According to the events of the previous Rally, slopes climbing, mute in the afternoon, the external appearance and the evaluation of other dozens of items, through the different driving methods of our drivers, we are to evaluate the performance of more than a dozen models from the appearance, the interior plus the actual slope climbing ability. With the largest number of racing models this year, the China EV Rally, Qinghai Lake (CEVR) is held better, and more manufacturers are taking part in the Rally. This time, the organizers have also invited the most drivers, with nearly 20 professional drivers. Every time I take part as head of the evaluation team. Our principle is to be fair, just and open, and to have all vehicles tested on an equal platform.
After a short rest in Tianjun, the teams began the sixth section of the competition (Tianjun-Gangcha) in the afternoon to evaluate the mute effect and exterior design of the participating models. Mute effect evaluation requires the road to be dry and flat asphalt pavement with its length of not less than 2000 meters. The air conditioner of the vehicles being evaluated should be in a closed state, and all functions that may produce warning sounds are in a closed state. It should pass through the test section at the average speed of 50km/h, and the judges record the driver's ear noise inside the vehicle with a sound level meter (Decibel Meter) as their final score. Design evaluation is mainly for the comprehensive evaluation of vehicle craft, modeling, exterior parts, etc., which is divided into five parts: process design, modeling design, side design, top design, lighting design. Six judges were selected by the committee to rate each model, each with a full score of 20, and the total score was the final score of the vehicle's exterior design.
On June 28th, the Fifth China EV Rally, Qinghai Lake (CEVR) ushered in its final day of the Tour of Qinghai Lake Competition, and the power saving capacity of electric vehicles was evaluated on this day, which has drawn so much attention of the consumers. In the afternoon, the teams of the motorcade returned to Xining and attended the closing ceremony at the Qinghai Grand Theater Square. Public Image Ambassadors of the CEVR including Zhang Jizhong, Che Xiao and Huang Junpeng, Image Ambassador of the Rally Xiaoting Pan, Public Welfare Promotion Ambassadors Sang Xue, Xue Ming, Zhou Luxin, and Xue Ming, Shi Jingnan and other stars from arts and sports industry have witnessed the perfect ending of the Fifth China EV Rally, Qinghai Lake (CEVR) in Qinghai Grand Theater.
